Cincinnati, OH---Cincinnati State's Tom Hathaway has been named the 2013-14 Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) Athletic Director of the Year.
Colorado Springs, Colo.---The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has named 18 student-athletes from the OCCAC as NJCAA Academic Student-Athlete Award winners and honored several teams for their overall academic achievement.
The OCCAC has announced their 2013-14 All-Academic team. Below is a sport by sport listing of all student-athletes who earned at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA with at least 24 credit hours.
Litchfield Park, Ariz.---Brandon Hoelzer, a sophomore member of the No. 1 Express men's golf team, fought off a tough first round to post back-to-back solid rounds in a 62nd place finish at the The Patriot All-America Invitational Dec. 29-31.
Aurora, OH---Blaze Hogan (Big Rapids/Big Rapids, MI) led the No. 1 Express men's golf team to a first place finish in the Lourdes University Fall Finale today.
Donaldson, IN---Blaze Hogan (Big Rapids/Big Rapids, MI) led the No. 1 Express men's golf team to a first place finish at the eight-team National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) D-II National Tournament Preview Tournament this weekend.
Lima, OH---Cincinnati State sophomore Evan Bryan tied a school record for the lowest 18 hole score with a 4-under 68 as the Surge beat Ohio State University- Lima and Clarke State College on Saturday.
Defiance, OH---Blaze Hogan and Kirby Manown torched the competition in today's Defiance College Fall Invitational to help the Express men's golf team capture first and third place finishes.
Hammond, IN---The Express men's golf team improved their team score by 12 strokes from round one, but finished in third place after today's final round of the Mike Lalaeff Memorial Invite.
Montgomery, IN---Entering the final 18 holes of the Vincennes Trailblazer Fall Classic with the overnight lead, the Cincinnati State golf team shot a final round 306 to win the tournament with a combined 2-day score of 604.
Wauseon, OH---The Express men's golf team placed two teams in the top four of the Jon P. Spiess Memorial Tournament at Ironwood Golf Course today.
Battle Creek, MI---Blaze Hogan led the Express men's golf team to a first place finish in the Olivet College Lou Collins Memorial Tournament on Saturday.
Playing in Thursday's "Battle at Bloomington" Tournament hosted by Indiana University - East, the Cincinnati State golf team finished second with a team score of 308.
Richmond, IN---The 2013 fall golf season kicked off today with great success as the Cincinnati State golf team placed first with a team score of 292 at the Indiana University-East Invitational held at Highland Lake Golf Course in Richmond, Indiana.
