  • Spring Semester Starts with Four Award Recipients

    The first full week of competition for 2020 brought a plethora of nominations for OCCAC Player of the Week and four student-athletes stood out above the rest. Armani Jackson (Lakeland) and Ronnie Hampton (Edison State) are the D-II winners while the Columbus State tandem of Melia Walder and Corey Baker earned D-III recognition.
  • Fall 2019 OCCAC Academic All-Conference Achievers

    STUDENT-athletes from across the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference earned Academic All-Conference honors for the Fall ’19 semester. To qualify, a student-athlete must achieve a 3.30 GPA or higher while completing at least 12 credit hours.

    Columbus State and Edison State won their lone contests on both the men’s and women’s sides during Thanksgiving week, leading to OCCAC Player of the Week representation for all four programs. Cougars Mickale Bates and N’Keeley Elmore are the D-III recipients while Sarah Pothast and Ronald Hampton of Edison State picked up D-II honors.

    Three OCCAC student-athletes earned the league’s basketball player of the week honors for Nov. 18-24. Allison Siefring (Edison State) picked up the D-II women’s nod while James Graham (Cuyahoga) and Jaylen Jenkins (Lorain County) were the men’s D-II and D-III recipients, respectively.

    Student-athletes from Lorain County and Sinclair earned the OCCAC Basketball Player of the Week accolades for Nov. 11-17. Vanecia Billings and Kevin Miller, Jr., of Lorain County were the D-III recipients while Dominique Camp and Ryan Stowers of Sinclair both made it back-to-back recognitions after snagging the same honor a week ago.

Sinclair’s Dominique Camp and Ryan Stowers of Sinclair Community College picked up the D-II accolades while Saraysia Nelson (Columbus State) and Shawn Paris, Jr. (Hocking College) each represented their school’s second straight D-III honoree to start the 2019-20 season.
