Cincinnati, Ohio---Cincinnati State sophomore Julie Martin has been selected as a National Junior College Athletic Association All-American in women's soccer after putting together one of the best statistical seasons by an individual player in the school's history.
Martin, a forward from Oak Hills High School, recorded 16 goals, 4 assists and 36 points in 2013, tying a school scoring record set by Rana Hoffbauer in 2002. Throughout the season, Martin recorded 6 multi-goal games. She led the Surge to an 11-7 record in 2013, including an upset victory over No. 1 seed Schoolcraft College and an appearance in the NJCAA Region XII Final.
Martin is the first Cincinnati State women's soccer player to be named an All-American since Amanda Seaburn was selected for the award in 2010.
