Surge Women Conclude Regular Season With 9-0 Win Over Ohio-Midwestern
Cincinnati, OH---In the final match of the regular season, Cincinnati State cruised to a 9-0 victory over Ohio-Midwestern College on Sunday.

Cincinnati, OH---In the final match of the regular season, Cincinnati State cruised to a 9-0 victory over Ohio-Midwestern College on Sunday.
Cincinnati State, which claimed it's largest margin of victory of the season, were led by forwards Julie Martin and Brittani Abner. Each player recorded collegiate career highs for goals scored in a game with 4 each. Martin scored in the 2nd, 21st, 48th and 77th minutes. Abner recorded goals in the 6th, 42nd, 47th and 87th minutes of the game. Freshman Jessica Wolski also scored, converting a 25 yard strike in the 85th minute.
Abner, a freshman from Oak Hills, finished second on the team in goals (12) and first in assists (7). Julie Martin led the team in goals for the second straight season (16) and points (35).
As a team, Cincinnati State outshot Ohio-Midwestern 24-2. Kelsie Lee and the Surge defensive unit claimed their 7th shutout of the season.
With Sunday's win, Cincinnati State finished the season with a 10-6 overall record. The Surge's 10-6 mark is the best since the 2010 season.
Cincinnati State begins postseason play against Schoolcraft College in the NJCAA Region XII tournament on Saturday. The regional semifinals and finals are hosted by Owens Community College in Toledo, OH
