Livonia, MI---Traveling to play Schoolcraft College on Sunday afternoon, the Cincinnati State women's soccer team gave up a late goal to lose 2-1.
Cincinnati State, which has never won on the road at Schoolcraft, fell behind 1-0 when Schoolcraft's Kelly McKay scored to give the Ocelots the lead. Cincinnati State freshman Jacqueline Cain scored in the 59th to knot the score at 1-1. With overtime looming, Schoolcraft's Samantha Jarrett scored what would be the eventual game winner in the 85th minute. It was Jarrett's first goal of the season.
"I think the ladies played well. We had our chances in the second half. Unfortunately, we just could not find a way to capitalize," Cincinnati State head coach Wil Cagle said.
Cincinnati State goalkeeper Kelsie Lee, who had a 305 minute streak without letting in a goal snapped, recorded 9 saves.
With the win, Schoolcraft improved to 12-1 on the season. Cincinnati State fell to 7-5 overall.
The Lady Surge, which are currently battling for the fourth and final spot in the regional post-season tournament, will host Delta College on Saturday at 3 pm. Cincinnati State lost 1-0 to Delta earlier this season on Sept. 28.
