Sinclair women’s basketball defeats Wittenberg at home
Dayton, OH---The Sinclair women’s basketball team (4-3) hosted Wittenberg (0-2) on a rare Thursday night game. With a first half struggle offensively, Sinclair came out on fire in the second half led by Breanna Ball.

Dayton, OH---The Sinclair women's basketball team (4-3) hosted Wittenberg (0-2) on a rare Thursday night game. With a first half struggle offensively, Sinclair came out on fire in the second half led by Breanna Ball.
Sinclair defeated Wittenberg 56-47, improving to 4-3 and gets set for back-to-back road contests this weekend.Sinclair jumped out to an early 8-0 lead in the first half keying on Wittenberg turnovers. Wittenberg made it a one possession game by scoring six unanswered points, Sinclair kept the lead at 8-6. From that point on Wittenberg remained within a few points for the rest of the half.
Breanna Ball hit a jumper and O'Sha Owens went 1 for 2 from the free throw line in the last minute of the game. Sinclair went into halftime with a 19-15 lead. Wittenberg had 19 turnovers in the first half.Breanna Ball opened up the first half on fire, she hit 11 of 14 in the second half. Sinclair surged out to a 10 point lead with 14 minutes left to play. Breanna Ball's stellar offensive performance allowed Sinclair to prevail. Wittenberg pulled within six with under 6:00 left in the game. Breanna Ball hit a jumper with under three minutes making the Sinclair lead 12 at 52-40.
After a Wittenberg foul which put Jenae Curtiss at the line, where she went 2-for-2, Sinclair went up 56-44. The stellar offensive performance of Breanna Ball aided in the Sinclair win.Sinclair was led by Breanna Ball (5-6/FR – Belmont H.S., Dayton, OH) who tallied 36 points and snagged seven rebounds. Jenae Curtiss (5-9/FR – Thurgood Marshall H.S., Dayton, OH) added nine points and five steals.
O'Sha Owens (5-4/FR – Elida H.S., Lima, OH) led the team with five assists.
Sinclair will be on the road the weekend before Thanksgiving, when both the men's and women's teams will travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan to take on Calvin College (JV) and Mid-Michigan CC. Before they leave for Michigan on Friday November 22, 2013, the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy's assassination, the teams will head over to the National Museum of the United States Air Force here in Dayton. The teams will tour the Air Force One that President Kennedy flew down to Dallas in that fateful day and the same plane that President Lyndon B. Johnson was sworn in that very same day. The tour will take place at 4:00 PM, around the same time that President Johnson was sworn in as the 36th President of the United States, 50 years ago.
Sinclair's next home game will be on Monday December 2, 2013, when they host Cedarville for the second time this season. Sinclair hosted Cedarville on November 13, 2013 and got their first home win beating the Yellow Jackets 73-65. Tip-off against Cedarville will be at 5:30 PM in building 8 at Sinclair Community College.
