For the second year in a row, Cuyahoga Community College has been crowned the OCCAC’s top athletics program as the All-Sports Award winners.

The Ohio Community College Athletics Conference sponsored men’s soccer for the first time since 2016 with Cuyahoga and Owens sharing the 2024 title. The co-champions combined to fill nine of the 12 All-OCCAC First Team slots. Lakeland’s Omar Inga arose as the OCCAC Player of the Year.
Jaali Peterson accounted for three points during a 7-0 showing for Owens Men’s Soccer versus Terra State. He sandwiched a 38th-minute assist with goals in the 15th and 65th minutes, earning OCCAC Player of the Week recognition.
Byron Perez terrorized Terra State in a home-and-home series sweep for Lakeland Men’s Soccer, single-handedly matching the Titans three goals with three of his own. The freshman forward was a unanimous choice as the OCCAC Player of the Week after his 3-goal effort.
Ethan Wilson became the second consecutive member of the Owens Men’s Soccer program to be selected as the OCCAC Player of the Week, picking up the accolade for the week of Sept. 9-15.
Owens Men’s Soccer (3-0-1) remains unbeaten four matches in to the 2024 season after last week included an OCCAC win over Terra State and 1-1 draw versus D-II foe Grand Rapids. Max York roamed the middle of the field and earned OCCAC Player of the Week honors for Sept. 2-8.
Terra State team captain, Connor Hauger, played a role in all six goals during a 6-1 victory over Lorain County (club) — scoring four and assisting on two more.
