Thiaw Named OCCAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week (Aug. 20-30)

Mohamed Thiaw, a sophomore forward for the No. 9 Cincinnati State men's soccer team, has been named the first OCCAC men's soccer player of the week for the 2015 season.

In a 2-1 win over Owens Community College in the season opener, Thiaw had one goal in his lone shot on goal. On Sunday, he had four shots on goal while producing two goals and one assist. His goal in the 87th minute gave his team a 3-2 lead.

Cincinnati State is 1-0-1 this year. They will host UC-Clermont at 7 p.m. on Wednesday before resuming Region XII play this weekend against Ancilla and Lake Michigan on the road.
