Cincinnati, Ohio---Quentin Perez, a freshman goalkeeper for Cincinnati State, has been named the OCCAC Defensive Player of the Week.
Perez recorded Cincinnati State's first shoutout win of the season in a 7-0 win over Lakeland on Saturday. He saved all three shots he faced.
"Beginning the season, Quentin was projected to be our backup keeper. Due to an injury early on, Quentin took over the reigns and has improved every week leading up to this points," said Cincinnati State head men's soccer coach Mike Combs. "He has always been a great shot stopper and has greatly improved his mobility over the last couple of weeks."
Cincinnati State is 6-2 with Perez in net this season. Overall, the team is 8-2.
