Cincinnati, OH---The Cincinnati State men's and women's soccer programs will host rival Schoolcraft College (MI) this Sunday.
The men will kick off the action at noon followed by the women's game at 2 pm. Both games will be held at the Xavier University Soccer Complex.
The Cincinnati State men enter the game with a 5-0-1 overall record and are currently ranked No. 7 in the latest NJCAA national poll. Sunday's game against Schoolcraft is a rematch of last year's regional championship when the Surge ended Schoolcraft's season with a 2-1 victory.
Cincinnati State forward Kevin Walker (Colerain HS) is ranked third in the NJCAA in total points. Midfielder Kyle Grothaus (Milford HS) is nationally ranked in the top five in goal scoring.
The women, which are ranked No. 18 in the nation, enter the game at 3-0. The early season success marks the Lady Surge's best start since 2010 when the team finished with a program best 13-5 record. Schoolcraft, which has won the last 8 meetings, enters Sunday ranked No. 14 with a 3-0 record.
Cincinnati State forward Julie Martin (Oak Hills HS), who scored the game winner in last weekend 3-2 win over Jackson, leads the team with 4 goals.
