Cincinnati State Seeded No. 6 in NJCAA National Tournament

Cincinnati, OH---Cincinnati State's men's soccer team, making its second appearance in the NJCAA nationals in the past three seasons, has been seeded No. 6 in this year's 12-team finals field.

The Surge, 17-5-1, will begin pool play vs. No. 10 seed Northwest College (Wyoming) at noon on Nov. 13, and faces No. 3 seed Louisburg College (N.C.) at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 14. The winners of the four pools advance to the tournament finals on Nov. 16-17.

The national tournament is being played at Darton State College in Albany, Ga. Cincinnati State will leave for the tournament on Saturday. All matches will be televised via the NJCAA on-line network, www.njcaatv.ihigh.com.

Cincinnati State, ranked No. 9 in the most recent NJCAA poll, qualified for the nationals with a 2-1 victory over CCBC-Essex in the North Central District tournament last Saturday. Liam Doyle, a freshman from the Isle of Man, scored a pair of goals late in the second half to power the victory.

After capturing a share of the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference regular season title, the Surge won the NJCAA Region XII regional tourney with victories over Owens and Schoolcraft, both nationally-ranked teams.
