Williams Earns OCCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week Award

Nic Williams, a sophomore forward, has been named the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) player of the week in men's basketball.
Williams averaged 21.5 points, eight rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals over two victories last week. In an 89-85 win over Cuyahoga, he had 23 points, 11 rebounds, two assists and two steals. Then, in an 88-78 win over Edison, he had 20 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals. He finished the week 14-for-27 from the field and 12-for-17 from the free throw line.
Williams is averaging 12.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game overall for Columbus State (12-4, 4-2 OCCAC). In OCCAC play, Williams is ninth in the league in scoring at 16.3 points per game, while also contributing 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
Columbus State will travel to Clark State Community College for a non-conference matchup this evening.
