Fort Scott Takes Game 1 Over Neosho

- Fort Scott managed through a push by Neosho in the third inning where Fort Scott coughed up three runs, but Fort Scott still won 9-4 on Sunday. Neosho offense in the inning was led by #5, #1, and #27, all driving in runs in the inning.
- Fort Scott opened up scoring in the first inning, when Brody Szako hit a solo homer.
- Neosho evened things up at three in the bottom of the third inning when #27 doubled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.
- Fort Scott pulled away for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Louis Holt singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Jake Skaggs drew a walk, scoring one run, and Mitchell Szczygiel drew a walk, scoring one run.
- Fort Scott notched three runs in the sixth inning. Szako and Skaggs each drove in runs during the inning.
- Jessie Moreno was credited with the victory for Fort Scott. The pitcher allowed five hits and four runs over five innings, striking out 11. Alex Johnson and Austin Neal entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Neal recorded the last two outs to earn the save for Fort Scott.
- #25 took the loss for Neosho. The bulldog lasted three and a third innings, allowing nine hits and six runs while striking out three.
