Coastal Alabama South Community College Sun Chiefs Loses Lead Early in Defeat

Coastal Alabama South Community College Sun Chiefs watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 15-5 loss to Pearl River Community College on Friday.  Pearl River Community College scored on a single by Tate Parker, a sacrifice fly by DK Donaldson, a single by Ian Montz, and an error in the first inning.

The Coastal Alabama South Community College Sun Chiefs struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Pearl River Community College, giving up 15 runs.

Pearl River Community College scored seven runs in the second inning.  Matt Mercer, Donaldson,  Triston Hickman, Logan Walters, Gabe Broadus, and John Griffin Bell all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Turner Swistak took the win for Pearl River Community College. The bulldog surrendered three runs on three hits over two innings, striking out four.  A number of pitchers entered the game as relief, with Cole Tolbert, Landen Payne, Jordan Belsome, and Parker Harrington all securing outs and ultimately the victory.

Landon Singley took the loss for Coastal Alabama South Community College Sun Chiefs. The lefty surrendered ten runs on seven hits over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one.

Alex Diaz led Coastal Alabama South Community College Sun Chiefs with two hits in three at bats.  Allen Grier led Coastal Alabama South Community College Sun Chiefs with four stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases.

Pearl River Community College tallied ten hits on the day.  Montz, Bell, and Parker all managed multiple hits for Pearl River Community College.  Pearl River Community College was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Hickman made the most plays with eight.
