The Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) has now had four student-athletes earn national player of the week honors following the announcement by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) that Stephanie Ruffing of Columbus State's volleyball team and Mohamed Thiaw of Cincinnati State's men's soccer team are national player of the week recipients for the week ending Oct. 19.

Ruffing and Thiaw, who were previously named OCCAC players of the week in their sports, now join Tevin Williams of the Cuyahoga Community College men's soccer team (Sept. 28) and Haley Malaczewski of the Owens Community College women's soccer team as one of the conference's four player of the week recipients so far this year.

Thiaw had four goals and three assists in wins over No. 6 Schoolcraft College and Jackson College. He had a hat trick in the win over Schoolcraft. Meanwhile, Ruffing averaged 5.40 kills and 3.94 digs per set last week. She had a season-high 37 kills to lead No. 8 Columbus State (26-1, 12-0 OCCAC) to a five set win over No. 5 Kirkwood.

Congratulations to all four of these student-athletes on their achievement!
