Holderman, Pena, George Earn OCCAC Honors

Andrew Holderman, Carlos Pena and Brittany George have earned this week's OCCAC player and pitcher of the week honors in baseball and softball.
Holderman, a freshman catcher from Sinclair Community College, was named the OCCAC baseball player of the week after going 5-for-7 last week. He scored two runs, had one double, knocked in three runs and had three sacrifice bunts.
Holderman is hitting .361 this year (22-for-61) with 15 runs, four doubles, two triples, 10 walks and 11 RBIs.
Meanwhile, Holderman's teammate, Carlos Pena, was named OCCAC pitcher of the week. He tossed a seven inning complete game victory against Owens while allowing only four hits and two walks. He struck out six.
Pena is 7-1 this year with a 1.75 ERA. In 46.1 innings, he has struck out 39 batters.
George, a freshman shortstop for Owens Community College, went 7-for-14 last week to earn player of the week honors in softball. In her team's six games, she hit .500 while producing five runs, one double, one triple, two home runs and five RBIs. She also drew three walks and stole one base. She did not strike out all week.
George is hitting a team-high .507 this year (38-for-75) with 31 runs, 10 doubles, three triples, five homers and 28 RBIs. She's struck out only twice alll year while drawing 12 walks. She's 8-for-9 in stolen base attempts.
