All-OCCAC Team and Annual Awards Announced for Softball

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Fourteen softball student-athletes were voted to the 2019 All-OCCAC Team, announced by the conference office on Friday (May 10). Daniele Rivera from Cuyahoga Community College was named the conference’s Player of the Year while Sinclair’s Ashley Brown nabbed Pitcher of the Year distinction. Steven Beachler guided the Sinclair Tartan Pride to a 14-2 league mark and OCCAC regular season championship, earning Coach of the Year honors.

PITCHER OF THE YEAR
Ashley Brown, Sinclair Community College

During the 16-game conference slate, Rivera batted .587 (27-46) with five doubles, two triples and 17 runs batted in. Brown started half (8) of the OCCAC contests and made 14 appearances overall during league play. She went 5-1 with a 2.03 ERA and 23 strikeouts in 38 innings pitched.
