Trio of Student-Athletes Named OCCAC Players of the Week

Tariq Johnson (Hocking) poured in 60 points during a pair of road games, averaging 30.0 per game on 22-of-36 shooting (61%) including 4-of-8 from beyond the arc, to earn his first career OCCAC Player of the Week honor. Meanwhile, La’Nia Moore (Cuyahoga) is back for the third consecutive week and fourth time this season, sharing this week’s laurel with the last honoree not named La’Nia Moore to win the award, in Liv Mullins (Owens) who is now a two-time winner.

Johnson logged 71 minutes across his two explosive efforts, scoring 31 points and 29 points at Southwestern Michigan and Owens, respectively. He also dished out nine assists and snared 15 rebounds in total. Johnson added three steals and two blocks, committing only two turnovers.

Moore’s back-to-back-to-back distinction comes on the back of a triple-double at Lorain County. She racked up 33 points, 12 rebounds and 10 steals (along with five assists) in 36 minutes of the conference road win. Moore shot 70% (16-23) from the floor in outscoring the entire Commodore team by herself.

Mullins averaged a double-double (18.0 points/g, 13.3 rebounds/g) as The Express went 3-0 vs. NJCAA competition. Arguably, her best all-around performance came on the road at Terra State when converting on 8-of-9 field goal attempts for 24 points to go along with a dozen rebounds, five steals and two blocks.
