OCCAC Names All-League and Player of the Year for 2010-2011 Women's Basketball
The OCCAC Athletic Directors have voted and announced the OCCAC Women's Basketball All-Conference Team which includes the "Player of the Year" for the 2010-2011 Season.
The all-conference team is determined by votes made by conference athletic directors. The AD's are not permitted to choose players from the school that they represent. The top 5 players receiving the most votes are tapped "First Team" all-conference in addition to the Player of the Year. Below are the results.

Congratulations to everyone who was honored on all conference for this season. A special congratulations to Owens Community College for winning the conference championship and to Cincinnati State who qualified for the NJCAA National Championships by winning the Regional Tournament.
Owens Express Womens Basketball Coach Mike Llanas Selected as "Coach of the Year"
Congratulations to Mike Llanas of Owens Community College on being selected as Coach of the Year for the 2010-11 season! The selection process includes all of the OCCAC Athletic Directors and a selection committee.
Also, A great congratulations to the Owens Express Womens Basketball team for winning the OCCAC regular season title and to Jasmine Blanton for being named the OCCAC Player of the Year.
It is the second time (2004-05) in the seven-year tenure of Coach Llanas that the team has placed four players on the league honors list, and 17 players have earned All-OCCAC honors in his tenure. It is his second Coach of the Year award - the other time being 2006-07. Blanton, who won the OCCAC Newcomer of the Year award last season, is the first player to win the league's player of the year with Llanas. She has the second most career points in program history (1992-present) with 951 points. Hall scored 472 points as a freshman this year - the 11th highest single season total.
Owens finished 27-5 (11-1 OCCAC) this year. They won the fifth conference title in school history, and they were the Region XII District I runner-up.
For the Owens men, Sophomore Cal Edwards (Rutherford B. Hayes/Delaware, Ohio) and freshman Jerron Jamerson (Washington, South Bend, Ind.) won All-Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) Honorable Mention honors as members of the 2010-11 Express men's basketball team.
The Express Men;s Basketball finished 10-21 (3-9 OCCAC) this year.
