Midway, KY---Cincinnati State's Julie Martin scored the only goal of the game as the Surge beat Midway College 1-0 on Thursday night.
Martin, a freshman from Oak Hills High School, returned to the lineup after missing the previous two games due to injury and scored the game winner in the 76th minute off a pass from sophomore Chelsey Hill-Root. Starting goalkeeper Miranda Estep recorded 2 saves in her first shutout of the season.
"Although we only scored once, I felt we completely controlled the game. Today gives us a little momentum heading into this weekend's game against Delta," Head Coach Wil Cagle said.
The Lady Surge, who improved to 4-8 on the season, will host Delta College on Saturday. The game, which will be held at Withrow High School, will begin at 1:00 pm.
