The Express were up by 28 points with 5:42 left in the game, but Sinclair made a late charge in the game bringing the score to a 12 point difference.
In the first half the Express had a lead of 50-28, but in the second half it was Sinclair who scored more points (65) compared to 55 for the Express.
In the paint and second chance points, the Express outscored Sinclair 52-36 and 22-15 respectively.
Lindsey (11) and Kelly (10) each added double figures in rebounding. Lindsey finished 9-for-15 from the field while Kelly finished finished 12-for-16 from the field. The two of them combined for 11 offensive rebounds.
The Express out rebounded Sinclair 51-31 overall. Twenty-three of them came on the offensive end for the Express.
Sinclair was led by Gavin Schumann with 23 points, Drew Moore with 19 points and Floyd Lee with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Charlie Byers added 16 points and 6 assists.
The Express are now 12-6 overall (1-0 OCCAC) while Sinclair falls to 13-5 overall (0-1 OCCAC). The game marked the beginning of the OCCAC season.
The Express' next game will be January 16 at 7:30 p.m. on the road against Cuyahoga Community College.
Kelly now has 861 career points.
The Express are now on a three game winning streak while today's loss marked the end of a six game winning streak for Sinclair.
