Sinclair Women's Volleyball team won on the road 3-2 at Miami University-Middletown Friday night.

Sinclair again started slow dropping the first game 23-25 to the host Miami University-Middletown (11-2) Thunderhawks. On this Friday night, every game was closely contested as the non-conference match up against the two local colleges turned into a 5 game marathon. Each team took turns winning close games until they were all tied at 2-2 and headed into the 5 game. Playing inspired defense, the Pride pulled out a 15-12 fifth game tiebreak victory to claim the match and earn a hard fought road win.

Sinclair (4-9/1-2) Volleyball splits weekend OCCAC matches
Sinclair Women's Volleyball team returned to the road this weekend with OCCAC matches at Lorain Co. CC and Owens CC.

Friday night the Tartan Pride picked up OCCAC win number 1 as they traveled to Elyria, Ohio to take on Lorain Co. C.C. The host team took advantage of Sinclair's long bus ride as they quickly put away game one 17-25. That was the only ray of light for the host team as the Sinclair netters went on to completely dominate the next three games and finish off leg one of the Friday/Saturday road trip with a 3-1 victory.

For the second time this week, Sinclair was looking across the net at another ranked opponent. On Wednesday the Pride put up a good fight in their home opener against the number 6 th ranked team in this week's poll – Columbus State. Now to finish off the week, Sinclair stands ready to take on the 17 th ranked team (Owens CC) on their home floor.

Playing its 12 th road match to start the season, the Tartan Pride had little in the tank to battle the very powerful Owens Express losing 0-3. The growing pains continue as the Pride netters are young and playing a very strong schedule early.

Sinclair –vs- Lorain Co. CC (3-1) 17-25, 25-11, 25-17, 25-18

Sinclair –vs- Owens CC (0-3) 9-25, 17-25, 13-25

Sinclair Women's Volleyball team made its way north on I-75 this weekend only to drop 5 close matches at the Owens CC Invitational.

Returning to action Saturday morning, Sinclair played three very close games against Jackson CC only to lose 0-3. The middle match of the day paired Sinclair against Kellogg CC in what turned out to be the best match of the day for the Pride. Jumping out to an early lead in both of the first two games, the Pride seemed to have some momentum until Kellogg took control and closed out the match 1-3. The Pride finished off a long day losing 0-3 to Kalamazoo C.C. which came into the match ranked 16th in the Nation.

Returning to action after a long summer the young Sinclair netters got off to a slow start as Muskegon CC (MI) took the first game 13-25. Pulling together for the next two games, the Pride made several runs only to fall short 21-25 & 19-25 to finish the match 0-3.

The loss earlier in the day seemed to wake up the Pride as they came out strong against Lansing CC (MI) winning the first game 25-17. The two teams battled back and forth with Lansing pulling out a narrow fifth set win 15-13 to take the match 3-2.
