Columbus State received the ninth seed of the NJCAA Division II Volleyball Tournament to be held at the Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells, Wis. The tournament is scheduled for Nov. 20-22. 

The 17^th-ranked Cougars will face eighth-seeded Central Community College out of Columbus, Neb. at 1 p.m. on Nov. 20.

Columbus State, winners of the Region 12E tournament, is led by Allison Rawlins (.72 service aces per game), Morgan Zumberger (7.1 digs per game), Megan Danner (9.8 assists per game). Lindsay Puthoff (0.9 blocks per game, 2.2 kills per game) and Jackie Randulic (2.6 kills per game). 

The Cougars were ranked in the NJCAA Division II Volleyball poll every week this season.

Columbus State advances to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament with a 3-1 win over Owens in the championship of the District E Region 12 tournament. The Cougars opened tournament play with a 3-1 win over St. Clair County (25-22, 18-25, 22-25, 25-21, 16-14). In the next round Columbus State defeated Schoolcraft (25-13, 18-25, 23-25, 25-16, 15-13) and Owens (25-21, 26-24, 25-23). Owens fought back through to the championship, defeating St. Clair, setting up the rematch with Columbus State. Owens, came out strong, winning the first game 26-28. Columbus State then rebounded, taking the final three games 25-20, 25-20 and 25-19.

Also in double digits is Tristan Watson (St. Augustine High School) with 16 points on seven goals and two assists and Manuel Conde (Colegio Simon Bolivar) with 12 points on four goals and four assists.

In goal the Lakers are led by John DiAntonio (Stow High School) with 51 saves and Damir Kuduzovic (Lakewood High School) with 43 saves.

On November 1, the Lakers will play in the Regional Tournament in University Center, Michigan.
