Bio

John Parisho is in his second season as the head coach of the Owens baseball program. Prior to that, he served as an assistant coach for three seasons.

In his first year as head coach in the spring of 2015, Parisho led Owens to its best postseason finish since the spring of 2007. The team posted a 23-25 record overall, 7-17 in OCCAC play (4th Place), captured the Sub-Region XII tournament championship over Vincennes University and finished third in the Region XII tournament.

Two of his players, sophomore outfielder Charlie Sipe and freshman infielder Casey Gose, each earned All-OCCAC honors.

Parisho served as the team's hitting coach during the 2013 and 2014 seasons after working with the team's outfield during the 2012 season.

The team has seen an improvement in wins over the past three seasons with the influence of Parisho either as an assistant or head coach. The team went from 15 wins in 2013 to 19 in 2014 and 23 this past year.

Parisho, who recently coached the 18-U USSA National Team in Florida, was part of the Eastern Michigan baseball program prior to Owens. He worked under the direction of the hitting and pitching coaches. He also helped with the scouting of opponents and made scouting reports for the outfielders.

Parisho has spent time at Dundee High School as a varsity assistant coach where he was able to learn under the experience and knowledge of Dan O’Brien, a former major league baseball pitcher and former Big 10 coach. While at Dundee, Parisho helped the program get back to playing fundamental baseball and respectability after a few years of below average play.

Parisho has also done numerous lessons with players that have gone on to play collegiate level baseball as recently as 2011 to Xavier University.

Parisho was recruited by numerous college and universities but injuries cut his playing career short. He posted an 8-1 record as a pitcher and hit .389 as a senior at Dundee, while leading the LCAA in home runs. Parisho was named all-league and all-region as a pitcher and outfielder. He was a three sport athlete and earned postseason honors in all three his senior year.

Parisho is originally from Dundee, Mich. and now resides in Perrysburg with his wife Angie.
