Edison Community College Women's Volleyball Opens Season Successfully
The Edison Charger Volleyball Team continued to their winning ways on Wednesday evening by dropping the #7 team in the country, Columbus State 3-1 (20-25, 25-20, 25-22, and 26-24). With the victory, the Chargers took over sole possession of first place in the conference.
Edison had great contributions from all seven players that played. Some of the statistical highlights were:
1. Shelby Shimp- 18 Digs
2. Bethany Hoehne- 22 Digs and 38 Assists
3. Madison Griesdorn- 18 Kills
4. Holly Tobias- 9 Assists and 13 Digs
5. Tara Spicer- 16 Digs
6. Kristen Drees- 13 Digs
7. Cristen Pullins- 8 Digs
The volleyball team improved its overall record to 9-3 and 2-0 in conference play. Edison will have a week off before they travel to arch-rival Sinclair next Wednesday. First serve is at 6:00pm.

Edison Community College Women's Volleyball Opens Season Successfully
The Edison Charger volleyball team opened up conference play last Friday night against nationally ranked Owens CC who had won the league ten consesecutive seasons untill last year when Columbus State knocked off the Express to earn its first conference championship.
Edison entered the match Friday with Owens riding a five match win streak and was looking to start the conference campaign with a big win. The Chargers did just that. After a two hour grueling mat c h, Edison was able to deliver the final knockout blow when Madison Griesdorn scored the final point to defeat Owens 3-2 in what many have speculated as one of the best regular season wins in recent history for the Charger volleyball program.
The volleyball team then defeated Wright State-Lake on Saturday morning fair l y easily winning in three straight games.
The Chargers improve their record to 8-3 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
Edison will face their toughest test to date Wednesday night at 6:00pm when the #6 team in the country and defending conference champion Columbus State invades the Student and Convocation Center.
